LIVINGSTON EDUCATION FOUNDATION AWARDS INAUGURAL TEACHER GRANTS

MORE THAN $31,000 AWARDS TO SUPPORT INNOVATIVE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS LIVINGSTON ISD

The Livingston Education Foundation is proud to celebrate an exciting milestone: the award of its first ever round of innovative teacher grants, providing $31,921.83 in funding to bring new resources, experiences and opportunities into Livingston ISD classrooms.

Thirteen grant recipients representing all six LISD campuses were selected from 27 applications submitted by educators across the district.

From immersive technology and hands-on STEM exploration to flexible learning spaces and creative arts experiences, each funded project began with an idea from a Livingston ISD educator about how to make learning even more meaningful for students.

INVESTING IN IDEAS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The Foundation's innovative teacher grant program provides funding for opportunities and resources that may fall outside of the district's regular budget, giving educators another avenue to turn creative ideas for their classroom into reality.

To ensure a fair selection process, identifying information including teacher names, campuses and grade levels was removed from applications before they were reviewed.

Individual grants were available for up to $1,500, while collaborative groups could apply for funding of up to $5,000.

• 9th Grade: $5,246.50 for Freshman Focus Academic Planners

• 8th Grade Science: $4,572.50 for Investigating Global Weather Systems

• 3rd Grade Math: $4,127.91 for Math Classroom with Dry Erase Tables

• Art: $3,250 for Creative Voices Studio and Gallery Shows

• Pre-K: $4,999.97 for Learning with Smartboards

• 3rd Grade: $5,000 for Tiered Classroom Incentives

INDIVIDUAL GRANTS

• 6th Grade Social Studies: $1,000 for Exploring with Virtual Reality

• 3rd Grade Science: $600 for STEM Exploration Kits

• Pre-K: $1,000 for Immersive Early Childhood Learning Centers

• 7th/8th Grade History: $1,000 for History by Design Makerspace

• 3rd Grade Reading: $500 for Comfortable Readers, Engaged Readers

• 4th Grade Reading: $500 for Learning Spaces with Innovative Seating

• 3rd Grade Math: $624.95 for Math Small Group Interventions

MADE POSSIBLE BY OUR COMMUNITY

This first round of grants represents more than a financial investment. It is an investment in Livingston ISD educators and the students they serve every day.

The Livingston ISD education Foundation was created to connect the generosity of our community with opportunities to enhance education throughout the district. Innovative teacher grants are one part of that mission, alongside student scholarships, recognition of academic achievement and teaching excellence, and support for future capital projects.

As the foundation begins its 2026-2027 annual campaign, this inaugural grant cycle offers a first look at what community support can make possible.

"We're starting our annual campaign for the 2026-2027 school year in September. At this time we have several events under construction, and are looking forward to working with our community partners who make investments like these back into our classroom possible. Together, we will make a difference in the future of LISD," Executive Director Janan Moore said.

The foundation hopes to offer another round of innovative teacher grants in December or January, followed by an additional round near the end of the school year.

And this is only the beginning.
